A 29-year-old builder was injured in a brawl at a prominent hotel in central Delhi’s Connaught Place area on China bottling machine Manufacturers Monday night.According to the police, the incident took place around 12 am when the victim brushed past another man in the bar leading to a heated argument between the two. “Though the argument was put to rest after intervention of some visitors, when the builder, identified as Shakti Gupta, was about to leave the premises after settling the bill, the man with whom he had argued with came back with a few of his friends,” said a senior police officer, adding, “Even as the builder was talking to them, one of the accused hit him with a bottle in the head.”The police received a call from the hotel about the incident and reached the spot.
The police added that the victim is a resident of southeast Delhi’s Greater Kailash area and is involved in construction business. “We have identified all the accused and will take action against them soon,” added the police officer. A case under relevant sections was filed at the Connaught Place police station. Mr Gupta was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he was discharged after medication.Investigating officials said that they have got hold of the CCTV footage of the incident and have identified the culprit who had attacked the victim with the bottle. “His statement is also being recorded,” said the investigating officials, adding, “It has been learnt that the victim and the accused knew each other and have indulged in fights earlier as well..” Further investigations into the matter are on.
